Landscapes

The landscapes in the work of Dragan Malešević Tapi are numerous and seem to have been an eternal inspiration for the artist. Tapi loved nature and was happy to go out to paint outdoors. When he stayed in the studio, he liked to listen to music and sounds from nature, which further inspired him. For Tapia, the landscape enabled experimentation with form, color, stroke, a consciously chosen realistic expression in which the physical world on the canvas gets its metaphysical reflection. When the critics called him a painter of magical realism, it was as if they had these very landscapes in front of them, because no matter how convincingly they seem like Montenegrin rocks, a garden or a glade, when you look at the other side through the title that can be "Field of Success", "Field of Happiness" or "Metohija", you get a new dimension of the picture but also a new dimension of the subject, with which the artist expresses his experience of celebrating nature and emotional and spiritual coexistence with it. A personal, emotional relationship to the landscape is a picture of a field, which for the artist is happiness, and Metohija is numerically marked with Tapi's 33 number.
